Queensland Museum: ‘Threads’ documentary short film
Comissioned by Queensland Museum in 2020, this short documentary film was produced as a feature for the Musuem’s exhibition titled Threads – Weaving: past, present, future.
Featuring an in-depth interview with Elisa Jane, we also captured beautiful environmental and aerial visuals to help tell her story.
The film highlights Elisa Jane’s connection to country and personal journey to insert Aboriginal narratives into Australia’s fashion history.
In this film, Elisa demonstrates how her arts practice creates threads that gives us a pathway to creating awareness about the depth of First Nation’s Peoples textile making in Australia and symbolic of interwoven, intergenerational knowledge.
